3D-Printing Bracket

Fall, 2022
After finish learning the 3d modeling and illustrating skills for a whole summer holiday, I decided to put my skills into practice. Soon I fixed my target onto my broken Nintendo Switch bracket. This bracket was broke after one year’s usage, so I decided to fix it.
I measured all the parameters of the broken parts and analyzed its ideal structures. Then I found out that this part is consists of a main body and several minor features. There is a rotating axis supporting the whole part and connecting it to the main bracket, and also few ribs confirming the part’s strength. Thus I built the whole part inside the modeling software according to the data I collected. When all is done, I sent this model to the school’s 3D printing workshop and received the finished part. However, I soon found a mistake. Since this part is not a fixed part but a rotating one, I should leave few empty space as the gap between two parts. I adjusted my model again with finer details and data, and finally this version works.
